The History Department works on graduating teachers for the secondary and intermediate stages, and the department seeks to graduate postgraduate studies (Master and PhD) in the field of historical studies.
1. Qualifying mathematics teachers and preparing them before service, by providing programs to prepare mathematics teachers at secondary stage through high-quality developed programs. 2. Developing mathematics teacher preparation programs in line with international standards and meeting the needs of society for qualified teachers to teach mathematics at all school levels. 3. Implementing educational research related to mathematics curricula and teaching them according to teaching methods, strategies and models in the twenty-first century. 4. Implementing research related to the use of computers in mathematics teaching, following up the introduction of technology in the field of qualifying mathematics teachers, and paying attention to the use of computer information technology (ICT) in the field of training student teachers enrolled in mathematics teacher preparation programs. 5. Contributing to the in-service training of mathematics teachers, through professional development programs that contribute to the development of skills, values and positive attitudes towards the teaching profession and towards promoting the principle of lifelong learning. 6. Providing consultations by the department professors and through the participation of faculty members in conferences and workshops dedicated to discussing educational issues related to the development of mathematics curricula and teaching methods and strategies. 7. Serving society and its educational institutions and educational research centers through the implementation of studies and the provision of consultations that contribute to the development of educational practices in the field and address any imbalance in the education system. 8. Emphasizing the ethics of the teaching profession that represented by the faculty members in the department and student teachers enrolled in the department's programs. 9. Developing postgraduate programs for master's and doctoral degrees in line with internationally recognized standards. 10. Contributing to the development of the quality system in the department and academic aspects, implement self-evaluation processes in order to ensure the quality of the programs offered by the department, and seek accreditation for the programs offered by the department by locally recognized bodies and organizations.
