Education Faculty Al-Mahweet was established in the city of Al-Mahweet - the capital of the governorate - in the academic year 1992/1993 AD as one of the faculties of education branches at Sana’a University, and studies began in it as an independent college, and the purpose of its establishment in the city of Al-Mahweet was a multi-objective goals: an academic scientific goal that accommodates students of Al-Mahweet Governorate to complete their university studies in the field of education in various scientific disciplines, and to provide the required teaching cadres in the education sector in the governorate, and a social goal in order to spread awareness and sound culture in the civil society of the governorate, and a cultural development goal for the city of Al-Mahweet. The study began with four departments: history, Islamic studies, English language and philosophy, then new departments were opened until the number of departments reached ten. And according to Republican Decree No. (9) of the year 1444 AH to establish Al-Mahweet University, which stipulated that higher education institutions in the governorate be attached to Al-Mahweet University, the College of Education became one of the colleges of Al-Mahweet University.
